Saw this. Interstate Love Song popped into my head. And I may now have difficulty getting it out. :( The trials and tribulations of being someone who grew up in the 90s...

Dead Flowers - Rolling Stones.

Next - Aftermath, the whole album.  Under My Thumb, Lady Jane, Out of Time, Mother's Little Helper.  Oh yeah.

Russian Orthodox Chants from the Liturgy:

1 The Polyeleos ("much oil" or, by connotation, "much mercy") is a festive portion of the All-Night Vigil service as observed on higher-ranking feast days in the Eastern Orthodox Church.

The Polyeleos consists of Psalms 134 and 135 (Septuagint numbering; King James Version: Psalms 135 and 136), which are solemnly chanted in a festive melody, with refrains Alleluia chanted between each verse. The refrain for Psalm 134 is "Alleluia.". The refrain for Psalm 135 is "Alleluia, alleluia. For His mercy endureth forever. Alleluia." This repeated chanting of the word "mercy" is another reason for the chanting of these psalms to be called Polyeleos. (from Wikipedia)

2 The Cherubikon, Cherubic Hymn or Chant. The hymn symbolically incorporates those present at the liturgy into the presence of the angels gathered around God's throne.

Don't know why but I've started to like movie soundtracks. Clint Mansell is nice. So is Gustavo Santaolalla and David Mattson.

Stunning.

Thanks. I should get to know his music better.

Same here.  It's the first piece I've heard of his.

Now that I think of it, it would be quite nice to visit Tallinn in order to go to a concert of his. Those tourist cruises to Tallinn are awful as they are filled with drunken Finns but I guess I could manage it if I knew that there's both cheap whiskey and a nice concert ahead.

We Insist! Max Roach's Freedom Now Suite

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsvFzXr-o-8\

One of the most haunting and powerful jazz albums ever recorded. Truly revolutionary music. Abbey Lincoln's transcendent vocals, Max Roach on drums, Coleman Hawkins on tenor sax, Booker Little playing trumpet, and Olatunji's percussions. Incredible stuff!

I saw Abbey Lincoln perform at the Atlanta Jazz Festival back in 1989. I got to meet her afterwards. Such a beautiful, talented, and gracious woman. I hung out with her for about an hour, and we talked about all kinds of stuff. I'll never forget it!

This album deserves to be listened to all the way through. Sit back and fully absorb this one. Deeper than deep.
