Well...I don't know...to me Lisa is more wholesome and sweet and familiar in spirit...I'm not used to such as portrayed on the Ozzy video. That scares me (likely because I'm not used to that type of music or people).

^^I was teasing you, dear sister! I thought maybe you were! The contrast was just too glaringly extreme!! But at any rate, it forced me to listen to some of this Ozzy of whom I had actually heard but never his music. And I was grateful to learn that it's not one of those devastating lost opportunties of life...

Heck. Yes. On both counts. Right now, it's "Back up and Push," June Carter Cash version.

That's cool, you should attend some liturgies at a Ukrainian Catholic Church then (Mr. Hurko's church). You would definitely feel comfortable there then.

Anton Bruckner's Symphony # 9 as performed by the Concertgebouw Orchestra. It is a shame he never finished this masterpiece.
I admit it took me a long time to get into Brukner, but the guy was good.

Just finishing up a listen to Black Flag's "Who's Got the 10 1/2?" (on "In My Head" now).
I used to love these cats back in HS... Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Schultz! "My War" got daily play when I was in high school. I've rediscovered "Loose Nut" and it's one of my favorite albums at the moment. It suffers from thin production, but, thankfully, "Who's Got the 10 1/2" was recorded on that tour and most the the album is played live with better production.

Here's a guilty pleasure from a secular source. Neil Young's "Old Man," with Linda Ronstadt on background vocals and James Taylor accompanying on banjo. One of my all time favorites. I love to get out my guitar and pick along to this one! Take the time to check it out. Here's the link to the song without the video: http://www.imeem.com/people/jYhLXu/music/AKaQM3RZ/neil-young-old-man/Selam

I'm sure there are a few guys in the choir who don't have the best voices; but they still aid and blend into the magnificent choir. The moral? Find more people to chant with you! Oh, and I also love their rendition of the Stichera. And the Doxastikon...

There are several words to describe Christian Church in Poland: - "kościół" [kosh-tchool] - the most general, can be used for all confessions' buildings and structures - "cerkiew" [tser-kyev] - for EO and Greek Catholics (but "kościół" can also be used) - "zbór" [zboor] - for Protestants - "molenna" [mo-len-naw] - for Old Believers

There's a really long track on that CD (about 20mins) that is probably my favourite ever recording of theirs. I can't find the text for it anywhere though. Any ideas? I know the CD comes with a booklet that has the text, but can't find the CD in stock anywhere.

Very beautiful! BTW, one of the women (in white headcover) looks a little bit like you. I just found in the "related" Youtube links this video - not exactly my "cup of tea," but maybe our younger folks will like. A Russian folk-rock duo "Zhili-Byli" and Dmitriy Starostin perform a song titled "Towards the Waters of Jordan": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaOHFjPRbJs&feature=related

Thanks, Heorhij. I listened to the Russian folk-rock group (I haven't heard any Russian folk rock, truth to tell!). This seems like something the modern Protestants might like. For some reason, I prefer the Russian Orthodox singing too...

A few years ago I majored in Slavic Studies at the university and one time, during the lecture in the Russian History class, our Professor asked us if we had heard of Rasputin, knew who he was etc. One of the guys instantly called out in a very loud voice, "Russia's greatest love machine!". We all had a good laugh about that one...

Wow, that brings back memories of my youth (the late 1970-s), when BonnieM was extremely popular in the former USSR, could be heard from every discoteque. BTW, historically, pretty much everything is accurate in their narrative, except, of course, the affair with Her Majesty. That was a hoax, invented by the pro-German party within the Tsar's court (maybe even personally by his own uncle, Great Prince Nikolay Nikolayevich), and enthuiastically spread by various people who were for whatever reason mad at Nicholas II. Great pictures, especially of Prince Yousoupoff and Purishkevich (the assassins).
