This evening I listened to Brigitte Bardot's "Contact!" having walked into Pizzicato Five's version initially. I was told that this was the first example of techno music. I did not know what this was but discovered that it was designed to be uninteresting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY9PY4r83p8

I also listened to Sareri Hovin Mernem for the first time. I really liked it, but it did not understand the English lyrics that I found.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZz5pczjy30

I then started thinking about Hohannes Gardashian, the only character that I really remembered from Elia Kazan's America America. He moved me and I discovered beauty beyond the visual. I was young and this was a good lesson.

I'm listening to God Save the Tsar, for some odd reason, as well as God Save the Queen, Gott erhalte, Gott Beschutze, and Dieu Sauve le Roi. I think my monarchism is showing.

What's the internet for, if not for showing off quaint ideologies with no relevance to the real world?

According to those with synesthesia, I read about a number of them and have known at least three, not like what Trisagion called Shiny. Which is what I believe your choice in music would indeed taste like to those poor souls capable of doing so.

The Killers - Shot At The Night

:)

This live version was my first experience of the song, and I was disappointed when I heard the studio version. It was rather... anaemic.

My :) was more for the song and less about this version (Youtube won't let me watch it from the US).   :-\

It's an official BBC link. This could work better.

That worked, thanks.  I enjoyed this version...I admit, though, that I am partial to the video.  Perhaps I just lost a few man points, but whatever.

It's a stained-glass panel of St Brigid, if the cross didn't give that away. :) She was famous for giving people things, even things she didn't own. :D

Dark Angel - Creeping Death (Metallica Cover) (http://youtu.be/VlxE36dKkas)

Better than I expected, as I don't generally like covers.  The main riff sounded better than Metallica's version, at least at certain points. Though I wish, with that middle bit after the solo, that they would have stretched it out a bit instead of coming back in so quickly with vocals. I will also say that I preferred Kirk's solo to that one... which is something I've probably never said before.

Girl on TV by LFO.

Still can't tell if they are the saddest excuse ever for a group or if they are arguably the cleverest lyricists of all time, using a countless barrage of seemingly irrelevant non-sequiturs that actually contain many great pop culture references and double (sometimes even triple) entendres.
Until I see the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come, I will not believe.
