Three Days Grace- "Lost In You". There's just something about Adam Gontier's voice.

I think Mayhem is a tad overrated. Burzum is the best of the early Norwegian acts, IMO.

I've never delved that much into that area, so I used the responses to an old metal archives thread to decide what to listen to. The thread was about which of the older black metal albums you thought best or some such thing, and I went through the thread and kept track of the responses. The Mayhem album got more attention than anything else by a large margin, so I started there and am working my way down the list, which is...

1) Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
2) Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
3) Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse
4) Darkthrone - Blaze in the Northern Sky
5) Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark
6) Darkthrone - Transilvania Hunger
7) Burzum - Filosofem
8) Gogoroth - Under the Sign of Hell
9) Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
10) Gorgoroth - Pentagram

Is he really any good? I sorta heard an interview with him for half a minute five years ago or so. He sounded like he was full of it.

Anyway, I was trying to explain to someone the difference between kvetching and complaining recently. Maybe Wex is actually worth reading. I look for a pdf to preview of something of his and didn't find anything.

I wish would've taken Yiddish in the 12 month window I could've. I have words, phrases, a few sentences which come easily. I read some Yiddish theater in transliteration. I don't know Jew letters and don't have the energy to learn the Jew letters nowadays.

'Ace of Spades,' Motorhead  :)

One of the truly classic rock songs that have held up over time. Lemmy is alright. When Motorhead came to town and I had no idea who they were, he would hang out at whatever dive bar was near where they were playing. All non-chalant. Never acted like an idiot, or creep, or anything.

I swear he and Kool Herc once played a game of pool in this stupid bar once. But my memories are starting to overlay one another, so I won't swear to this.

Years ago I listened to Just say nu and liked it. I've given the CD it was on to someone never to get it back... Since then I've been trying to find any of his stuff myself, but to no avail.

He's the only contemporary Yiddishist I know of, besides Dovid Katz.

Yiddish might soon be extinct, I'm afraid. A shod!

Lemmy is awesome. He is a very powerful and uncompromising man. His bar is extremely high as far as making music and living life.
He is 70 or so and still releasing fiery albums and living the same way he always did.

Plus, Lemmy was in Hawkwind for their best albums.
