There's a few Weird Al songs I like, I can't remember which, but shame on him for parodying Gangster's Paradise.
Funny story: He likes to always gain permission for his parodies, but this was pretty much the only exception. He was led to believe Coolio approved, but hadn't personally sought permission, and published his song while misinformed. Coolio became pretty cool about it later.

Also, Amish Paradise is hilarious.

Weird Al- Party in the CIA

Coincidentally, I recently saw the episode of "30 Rock" with Weird Al. Anyone else see that? (It was from the spring of this year.)

La Forqueray, of François Couperin (harpsichord), and Beethoven's Sonata in C Major (piano).

F. Couperin is quite amazing in that quite a few of his little works foreshadow later developments in music. This makes him something of a "musical prophet." Some of his things sound like early Beethoven, or at least Mannheim school, and like Bach, and like Handel, and like Chopin (kid you not), and like Debussy (kid you not - weakened tonal center, in middle French Baroque - wha?) and some things are deliberately retro, sounding like medieval fair music (think hurdy-gurdy, think bagpipes as played on harpsichord). Also some things are retro a la Jean-Baptiste Lully grandiosity. Couperin tends to be "mood music" and is rife with insane amounts of trills, which however are just part of the whole style. That you might have seven or eight trills (or other ornaments) per measure, in different voices/parts, is unthinkable in Bach or Handel, but not weird in F. Couperin.

One movement of his D minor "ordre" is like a foreshadowing of the Moonlight Sonata. (As is Bach's Little Prelude in D minor.)

So, yes, I have been playing way too much F. Couperin and Beethoven. And it is slow today here at work...
