They've seen too many horror films and have too much time on their hands?  Grin  I've never been a big fan of Cannibal Corpse, but am rather liking their new album.  angel

Related to Jim Carrey, btw. (a great CC fan, as far as he says) Smiley

Cannibal Corpse is a mediocre band with some very successful PR... kinda like Metallica.

Candlemass - Prophet

I was just researching this band.

What do you think of the cover art for their latest album?

To be honest I didn't really even look at it that closely until you just mentioned it (I bought it after hearing clips on youtube or amazon, and I bought the album without really even looking at the cover). I can see the reason you're asking now, though it doesn't particularly bother me. The halos are a bit much I guess. The artwork from the front is repeated throughout, as well as other crosses such as these:

EDIT--For those (almost all of you) who haven't seen the cover, this is it:

It's hard to nail down whether they're parodying Christianity or just using Christian imagery.

I would really like Candlemass. I love the way they sound. Except their lyrics are awful. And normally bad lyrics are not a problem for me with metal bands, because usually you can't actually hear them with all the growling or rasping. But when the man is belting his bad writing out in a crystal-clear operatic voice, there is a problem.

Along those lines, here's my favorite...  Grin

Quote
Dancing In The Temple (of The Mad Queen Bee)

Dancing in the temple of the mad queen bee
Deep in the cinnamon forest
She offers me crickets, she offers me tea
In the court of her enchanted palace

Asks me if I wanna stay
Sing with the trolls and the fays
Swim in her emerald lake
I'm dancing in the temple of the mad queen bee

A sip from the well
I am locked in a spell
Trapped in a grim fairytale
Endless the fun
I wish I had a gun
But I'm dancing forever... from room to room...

We dance the fandango, we do menuet
Waltz in her shadow palais
Listen to the strings of a goblin quartet
See the magic ballet

Asks me if I wanna stay
Sing with the trolls and the fays
Swim in her emerald lake
I'm dancing in the temple of the mad queen bee
