LOL. That's the volume in my head. Whenever I listen to music on my Zune, it's terrifyingly loud. I've had passersby chime in on my music, rarely, but it's happened once or twice. I was really embarrassed. Ever since then, I turn it WAY down when I'm on public transportation.
Rage is good music when you're sweaty, angry, and you just dropped the bed on your foot for the millionth time.
I'll probably detox with Celtic Woman or something equally soothing.
Rec time, since you all know a lot about music. I listen to some Israeli/Arab rap artists, and I'm looking to add more foreign rap to my collection. I think I like not knowing 0 to 60% of what they're saying. Artistry without saying certain words every five seconds. If you can find this in English too, I'll take any rec.

New South Wales is not much of an AFL state. It is commonly known as GayFL here. The supposedly-less-homoerotic Rugby League is the game of choice.

Yes, but from the size of the crowds at the Swans' games...Sydney must be pretty gay. But yeah, there is a guy from Newcastle, NSW who goes to school with me, he calls AFL "Aerial Ping-Pong for Poofs" I lol'd.

Erich Wolfgang Korngold's movie soundtrack to The Adventures of Robin Hood, one of my favorite movies when I was a kid (and still to this day). I can recreate the entire movie in my head as I hear this soundtrack.

"I woke up early this morning around 4am With the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep But thoughts of us kept keeping me awake Ever since you found yourself in someone else's arms I've been tryin' my best to get along But that's OK There's nothing left to say, but
Take your records, take your freedom Take your memories, I don't need'em Take your space and take your reasons But you'll think of me And take your cap and leave my sweater 'Cause we have nothing left to weather In fact I'll feel a whole lot better But you'll think of me, you'll think of me"

And Van Halen. You have one chance to redeem yourself in my eyes: Roth or Hagar? That's a trick question. There is a clear choice. There is no trick. It is one or the other. And I ain't talking about women from the Bible or a Jewish author who never got over his mommy. I mean, Roth is the only answer, but I'm too committed to country music to get overly sentimental about it. OK. I hate Van Halen. Can't stand their music at all. But David Lee Roth is some sorta freak of a genius. If you have ever heard him talk for more than an hour, sober even, it is a wonder. One of my best friends is an EMT in NYC and an old partner of his was actually partnered up with DLR when he was EMT'ing in New York. He said that when a call was on, DLR was as serious as can be, but when they were waiting around, he was the most entertaining man ever. Another true story (my friend SWEARS this is true): DLR and his partner were waiting for a call with a newbie (so three in the bus). A call comes over for a jumper. Everyone sort of grins as DLR returns the dispatch call with, "On the way, let's hope this guy doesn't jump before we get there." As they're driving there, Van Halen's "Jump" comes over the radio. LOLs ensue. I was a HUGE VH fan back in HS! Thanks for sharing these cool DLR stories! BTW, anyone know why he decided to become and EMT? I think it's really cool and altruistic, but it just doesn't seem to fit the self-centered, rock-n-roll attitude David used to have.
