Manowar - The Gods Made Heavy Metal
♫ The gods made heavy metal, and they saw that it was good, ♫ They said to play it louder than hell, we promised that we would, ♫ When losers say it's over with, you know that it's a lie, ♫ The gods made heavy metal, and it's never gonna die!

I love Manowar. Sometimes the real thing will always be funnier than the parody. As long as Manowar exists, Tenacious D's "The Metal" is utterly superfluous and just plain inferior.

Well, since I'm using a pseudonym I guess it's safe to admit in public that I occasionally and secretly indulge in eurodance nostalgia as well. 2 Unlimited is from Belgium, btw. These days I listen to, uhm, more mature types of electronic music (hehe) like tech or deep house, and I regularly listen to film scores, classical music, and in more recent times, Orthodox chants (Divna Ljubojevic, Simonopetra, etc), as well.

LOL Schultz, I totally sing that song when I make PBJ and/or I pick up a baseball bat. Mr. IsmiLiora threatens dire consequences every time I sing it! Well quester, aren't you Mr. (or Ms.!) Maturity. I listen to a really strange mix of music (I know everyone says that, but it's true for me! Promise!). For some reason I don't like dance/techno music (speaking of the genre in general, my head hurts when I try to separate them into the subgenres) today. That stuff is all from the early-mid 90s. I also listen to Russian, Hebrew, Serbian, and Arabic pop/rap music. Mr. IsmiLiora also introduced me to Nightwish, which began my love for symphonic metal. Throw in The Offspring, Gogol Bordello, Rammstein, and Rage Against the Machine and you have a very, very confused Zune. I haven't gotten into the Orthodox chants just yet but I do want to start! Better than CCM, I'm sure.

Better than CCM, I'm sure. Ah, but you should! I'm especially fond of Russian Orthodox music. Here's a few of my favorite Orthodox chants and compositions: Спаси Господи люди твоя (Save Oh Lord Thy People) Земля русская (Russian land) Blagosloven Jesi Gospode (Blessed be the Lord) Agni Parthene (Oh Virgin Pure) Tchaikovsky - Come, Let us worship (from the St. Chrysostom liturgy) Rachmaninov - Praise the LordChriste Aghgsda (Georgian paschal troparion) I know of a few Russian electronic music artists but it doesn't involve any lyrics. I wish I were not that picky about music genres but I don't like pop/rock music in general. I used to be into French and other rap when I was younger but these days I think it's garbage. To give you an idea of the electronic stuff I listen to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoOy-iVZe7ohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zDOEXxSgwgYou'll either love it or hate it. Cheers, Q. PS: it's Mister, thank you very much

Thank you, Mr. Quester! I will listen to those chants toute de suite. Now listening to Andrew Zimmern eat a dish with bile sauce on the Travel Channel. Yes, listening, because there is no way I'm watching that.
