Petra's "Let Our Voices Rise Like Incense". I never listened to a lot of this sort of american christian rock music, but I always liked this song:

Adam Sandler - Lunch Lady

Haven't heard that song in a long time. Typical mindless surfing got me to the song. Somehow I stumbled on a picture at Google of Emmanuelle Chriqui. Beautiful girl. I ended up at her wiki page, and found out that she was in the Adam Sandler movie You Don't Mess with the Zohan, so I went to the movie's wiki page. I then went on to Sandler's wiki page. And there I recognized his CD They're All Gonna Laugh at You! which I used to own, so I went to that page. That reminded me of some of his songs, so I went to youtube and looked one of them up. Mindless surfing, dumb songs, good looking Moroccan Jewish chicks. I guess my evening is complete.  :P

I listen to the bible on audio, you can download it here:
http://www.lds.org/mp3/newarchive/0,18615,5249-1,00.html

Here is a more likable narration of the new testament:
http://www.audiotreasure.com/KJV/index.htm

Also I listen to a man named constantine zalalas; they are lectures made by a greek othodox father, they called him 'St John Chrysostom of the 21 century' his name is, Father Athanasios Mitilinaios, constantine zalalas only translated a good amount of his huge collection of lectures. Find them here:
http://www.philokalia.org/zalalas.htm
here:
http://www.pigizois.net/arxodariki/In_English.htm
And here:
http://www.pantocrator.info/en/modules.php?name=Downloads

I have a huge collection of spiritual audio files on my Itunes, so I just set it to shuffle and get on with my day.

Here a true pearl for orthodoxy, it has a cd that is for the reading impaired, and is has information on ancient monasticsm pictures, and other cool stuff.
here it is, a masterpiece of spiritual advice: St Abba dorotheos, 'Practical teachings of the Christian life.'
Its written for monks, but it is a treasure for everyone to acknowledge and take to heart.

http://www.stspress.com/detail.aspx?ID=2990

Over 201 tracks with 17 chapter and 10 more or less tracks per chapter
Very easy to listen to narration.
I just coverted it to mp3, and put it on my mp3 player.

Its just, 'Itunes, shuffle, get on with my day, and pray it goes to a track which edifies me'

Col. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

I'm generally not a big fan of metal, but I thought this track was kinda cool. It's a death metal reworking of traditional Norwegian folk music.

This kind of stuff is actually very prevalent in the Scandinavian black metal scene. I'd also recommend checking out:

 Windir

Ulver (their first 3 albums, anyway)

There is a band called Finntroll which combines black metal with Finnish polka (they call it "Troll metal," haha)

I'm currently listening to my favorite Operas.  Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Cenerantola, etc.

A friend of mine gave me a very good CD which my priest's wife is on.  it was recorded when they both went to St. Vladimir's.  I just love the Church's music.  it's so.......I can't really put it into words.  It puts me into a meditation-like state, which is great time for prayer.

Ke$ha - TiK ToK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tik_Tok_(song)

I saw the artist and title and said "ugh". Then I read the first part of the wiki page and said "double ugh". Then I read this...

"Lyrically, the song speaks of attending a party one night, coming home half-drunk, and waking up the next morning surrounded by 'beautiful women'."

Where do I sign up?  ;D

It's pretty much our party theme, though it obviously never happens. We all have too much self control for that sort of party. (thankfully)
I think we (our friends) like her as an artist because she doesn't sound horrible (like some female artists we've heard) and she's our age.
Initially I didn't like the song but it grew on me, I don't listen to anything else she's done because it gets a little too explicit/sexual in it's content, but that song is pretty good. Much better IMO than Lady Gaga.

Currently listening to: Matisyahu - One Day    (this guy is good, he's a Jewish Reggae singer)

Jethro Tull - My God

People, what have you done? Locked Him in His golden cage.
Made Him bend to your religion, Him resurrected from the grave.
He is the god of nothing, if that's all that you can see.
You are the god of everything, He's inside you and me.

Great album from start to finish.

Resuming my research into Sergei Rachmaninoff for a speech I'll be giving in a few weeks, so I just heard his Prelude in C# minor, Op. 3, a work that became so popular and so frequently requested of him at his public performances that he tried to distance himself from it.
