I'm looking for a good reference on lives of the Orthodox saints--sort of a who's-who type of thing.

Any recommendations?

I assume you mean EO saints, so here you go:

Light and Life has more books, but I couldn't get the link to there to work.

The Prologue of Ohrid, by St. Nikolai Velimirovich, is an excellent choice.

While not a book, the Saints and Feasts feature of the OCA website actually gives a nice simple history of each of the saints  and feasts with troparion and kontakion as observed on the Slavic Typicon.  The Greek Archdiocese also has a nice one that includes the Gospel readings and epsitle for the day  based on the Typicon of the Great Church as wellas it sometimes utilizes Father Paulos's book on saints as well as HTM Readings for the saints on its page.

The websites are:

OCA www.oca.org

Greek Archdiocese  www.goarch.org

There are probably many other webresources available as well,

I've seen the websites mentioned.  My main concern is to gain more knowledge about these people.  I'm willing to buy a book (or several) as long as they're comprehensive and include most of the saints.  I just don't know if a book like that exists.

I just don't know if a book like that exists.

It doesn't...there are way too many saints to get 'most' of them in one book.

My suggestion is to peruse a listing of some saints, check out the websites, and maybe read the Great Horologion. Find a few saints that intrigue you..it'll happen, don't worry!

Then, dig into their lives one at a time, and then eventually move on to another one that interests you.

If you're not strapped for cash, I think this is the most comprehensive Synaxarion available in English:

The Prologue is excellent and of course St Dmitri of Rostov - not sure about English edition.  And for contemporary Russian saints see: pokrovpress.com

Absolutely.  Should be a part of every Orthodox library.
