Is it happening? If so, when is the day we have to turn in pictures of our beards for judging? What will the various contests be? I remember longest, sullest, most monastic like, but forgot the rest.

Yeah. I'm interested in it, too, although I won't be able to begin growing mine until the beginning of June due to work.

Are we to submit "Before" pictures to be compared with the ultimate "After" shots?

Besides, longest, fullest, etc., we could have a "biggest difference in before and after shots" category, or something like that. :bounce:

What's up with that? You all are really doing a beard contest?  Don't give Anastasios any ideas, I tell him his beard is getting too long already!

Perhaps God has a sense of humor and He intended that we males look like billy-goats with our beards?  I just hope that we don't smell like billy-goats too!    Cool

Hey I'm just neglecting my children and my kitchen for a moment to ask the same question I posed in the great titles race : what happens if a woman wins this competition?  Grin

Any woman who wins this contest must legally change her name to Hatshepsut.  Grin

I'm guessing since there's been such little response to the concept, we aren't submitting before pics? When is the end date for this contest?

Yeah its been too long ago since it was supposed to start (Bright Monday) so I just say at the agreed upon date to end the contest me post our beards as of that day. What day should we go for? Nativity? That gives everyone 7 months to grow a nice, good, long, full beard. (And Old Calendarists get an additional 13 days to grow theirs out for the contest too Cheesy)

Nativity is cool with me, or next Pascha (April 11, I believe), whichever everyone else prefers.

I don't think it's too late for "before" pics. We could just post 'em by a deadline: say, June 1?

Sinjin

But I thought beards were again "cool" in the heavy metal sub-culture? :cwm16: You don't have to be Rob ("I'm a cry baby") Zombie or anything to that extent, but can't ya give it a shot? Smiley

They are cool indeed. However, what catches the ladies' attention I will do.  The thing is that I have no current pictures of me and that I lack the means to post my picture on the internet.

Just trying to get my foot in the door, actually! When my mom in law commented (thinking I was out of hearing range) that I "looked like a hippie" I knew that I'd better chop it off...

...until after I start working again, that is Wink Then, my friend, we shall see who grows the most Orthodox beard!  Tongue lol
