I met Angelo and his family today. Up until last week, Angelo was a healthy, active 84 year old. After visiting a doctor for indigestion, a scan revealed last Thursday that he has advanced Pancreatic Cancer, and a very poor prognosis. Angelo, who is married to a lovely Filipino lady (his second wife) has been estranged from his former wife and two of his three children for 30 years, and they have met again today in the hospital for the first time since the estrangement with many tears, embraces and regrets for wasted years. Angelo, who is baptised an Orthodox Christian, asked me to call a Priest to Confess and Commune him (which he hasn't done for 30 years either). The nearest Priest (an hour's drive away) is unable to drive due to recent eye surgery, so I will be driving out to pick him up tomorrow.
Please pray for Angelo and his family as they try to reconcile in the little time they have left together, and pray for Angelo who has come back to Christ at 84 after 30 years, and pray for me who will be conveying the Precious Body and Blood of Christ in my car tomorrow.

The Angels danced for joy today.
Angelo made his Confession, asked forgiveness from each of his family members one at a time, including his ex-wife, and received the Holy Gifts. Today his ex-wife met his current wife for the first time and they had lunch together at a local cafe.
Please remember Fr. Alex in your prayers who kindly came and administered the Sacraments after having cataract surgery only two days ago.
It's been quite a day!

That is wonderful news about Angelo and his family.
My prayers for Fr. Alex, as well. Modern eye surgery has accomplished some wonderful things. (My mother had the surgery years ago and can drive, read, do craft work and more.)
