Dear Didymus,
Thanks for the notice. The journey of the Holy Family throughout the Holy Land, though a peripheral incident of the Gospel story according to many other Christian traditions, is a celebrated Feast of the Coptic Church. The Monasteries of the Coptic Church in the Holy Land mark the route of their journey; Holy Altars glorify their resting places, and miraculous phenomena continue to testify to the blessing of their presence.
Whether by coincidence or intention, the BOC just recently published and released its latest addition to the Oriental Orthodox Library:
a translation of The Vision of Theophlius--an extra-Biblical tradition regarding the sojourn of the Holy Family in Egypt. This "apocryphal" work accounts for a vision, credited by a medieval Coptic Bishop to St. Theophilus (23rd Patriarch of the See of Alexandria) via St. Cyril, of the Virgin St. Mary through which she personally revealed, in inricate detail, her personal account of the journey.
