stashko,

While many Popes have certainly said and written some troubling things regarding the nature of the Papacy (things which are heterodox let me be clear), I don't think that it's wise for you to be lifting examples of such from that website.  I guarantee you that the author(s) of that site would be saying much the same things about the Orthodox Way that they do about the Roman Catholic Church on those webpages.

I think that while the website is a Catholic traditionalist site, yet the quotes are simply that- quotes - and they are properly referenced.

The point is that you won't find this kind of papal teaching on standard Catholic websites since it forms part of previous teaching and previous pronouncements from the Pontiff which modern Catholicism prefers to bury.

If the popes are guilty of saying these troubling things, why do we orthodox have to pretend they didn't happen or try to ignore them ...Isn't it better to bring these things up to the light of day... ;D ??? ???

Especally when part of Holy Orthodox Is seeking Reunion with rome..Can't Have this hidden in their closet, after reunion the may want to bring this back and put it into practice or it could  be ,that the present pope still believes this about himself  ..... ;D

By all means, bring them to the light of day, but watch what you link to.  That is my only point.  That site has some dangerous ideas of its own (the idea that it is wrong for man to worship God on Sunday, for instance), ideas that could easily confuse someone who might otherwise not visit that site but for your link.  After all, you wouldn't like to a website that has pornographic images on it that also used part of its bandwidth to discredit the Papacy?  I would liken the ideas of this website to the most graphic pornography, spiritually speaking.

That is my only point.

That website is not a Catholic traditionalist site, but some non-denominational Christian site that would most assuredly find our Orthodox practices to be just as distasteful and "heretical" as the Papacy.

That website is not a Catholic traditionalist site,

My mistake.  I have seen collections of these pontifical teachings on traditionalist websites and jumped (wrongly) to the conclusion that Stashko had found such a site.   But I still think that the quoted material stands in and of itself no matter who put it on the web.

The Orthodox/Catholic dialogue regarding the "four apostolic churches" and full communion has been split off and moved to Orthodox-Catholic Discussion

On Full Communion Between the Four Apostolic Churches

Additionally, please remember that the Faith Issues board is a place for the discussion of issues and inquiries related to the Orthodox Christian faith.  I ask therefore that our Catholic posters respect this fact and post on the Faith board only to correct our misconceptions of your faith and praxis.  Since we have a separate board reserved for Orthodox/Catholic dialogue, attempts to go beyond mere correction and actually engage the Orthodox in interfaith dialogue on the Faith Issues board is not appropriate and will be moved to the Orthodox-Catholic board, where it is appropriate.

Thank you for your understanding.
