Metropolitan Antonio of the Chiesa Ortodossa in Italia (Orthodox Church in Italy) is to undergo a delicate surgery on his heart soon (actual date unknown, but it is believed to be this week) at the age of 66.  Please pray for a successful surgery, a prompt recovery and his future health.

Lord have mercy.

Do you know the Metropolitan personally? If so, please private message me a little about his story after he left the Synod of Metropolitan Cyprian after 1993.  I tried to email him once with no response.

I will pray for him.

Past posts reflect stages of my life before my baptism may not be accurate expositions of Orthodox teaching. Also, I served as an Orthodox priest from 2008-2013, before resigning.

No I don't personally know him, my uncle is a member of the COI and he told me about him being in the hospital.  I PMed you a translation from something on their site.

Gloria a Dio!  It appears Metropolitan Antonio entered the hospital 2 days before my original post, and after a successful procedure and recovery he was able to re-enter the Monastery on Pentecost.
