Is it true the Ethiopians date the birth of Christ 7 years after the rest of us and are having their millenium cellebrations this year?

Just to clarify, what year are you going into?

When is your calendar dated from? Is the first year 0 or 1?

I ask this because if the first year is 1 then the year 2001 begins the new millenium not the year 2000.

Interesting question.

I will look into this and try to get back to you.

That's pretty much like Coptic New Year, although we still got about less than 300 years to go before our second millenium of "the year of the martyrs".
