Wow, crazy!!!
I very vaguely remember him, except for stories from my family.  My sis takes great pride in that he taught her how to snap her fingers.  It was great seeing all the clergy, many of whom are now deceased.  I recognized the deacons, wonderful men, one & all.
Now where were we? Oh yeah - the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Thank you for the links, and the reminder of one who made a profound impression upon me.......

1. Standing near this ascetic looking heirarch and suddenly starting as he produced a pink comb. In an instant his seemingly severe image was softened.

2. A Russian priest telling me of the most beautiful long conversations he had with Vladyka, sat in a garden with never a word spoken between them.

3. His writings for children.......

4. And in those a clear distinction made between Patriotism, which was compatible with Christianity, and Nationalism, which was not.
