I am somewhat confused from the article as to the issues at hand in this suit. It would seem to me that the parents, not the child, are the injured party; and, therefore, that the suit should focus on the financial damage done to them by the malpractice. To ask the courts to consider the philosophical issues about the value of existance seems both impractical and unnecessary; the issue can be reduced to a simple comparison of the parent's current financial situation compared to the cost of an abortion, though I would suggest the possibility of the parents making the child a ward of the state be taken into account in determining financial liability.
