Today is the first of two Saturdays of Souls (the other is the Saturday before Pentecost).

We remember those righteous who have fallen asleep before us in the hope of Life Eternal: Kings, Patriarchs, Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Monks, Forefathers, Parents, Siblings, Children, Strangers, the Poor, those oppressed, killed in war, terror, conditions of distress, and for all those who were Perfected in the Faith.

May their memory be eternal!

I didn't know that!

May He have mercy, indeed!

Give rest, O Christ, among the Saints to the souls of Your servants, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no grieving, but life everlasting.
