It was a great game. Ridiculous officiating though. Good grief, I've never seen so many missed calls. I had no dog in the hunt, I just wanted to see a good game. Two of the best point guards I've ever seen on the college level, Siva and Burke. Wow! Wish that it would have come down to the final play. Some coaching errors on Michigan's part at the end there. Congrats to Louisville.

I'm a huge Louisville fan, live in Louisville, have tons of relatives who went to UofL. And I hate Rick Pitino with a passion. Trust me, there were plenty of calls for him to retire when that story broke, but quality of sports is more important than quality of character.

But I won't let that ruin my happiness right now. Go Cards! Luke is amazing, Chane really came through too. I just wish Russ had had a better night.

I'm glad to hear that there were calls to get rid of Pitino. Like I said, it disappointed me because he comes across like such a classy guy. I can understand the adultery, although I don't excuse it. But rich, famous, charismatic people are faced with tremendous temptations. God help me if I was confronted with the same. But to pay for an abortion is just sleazy and evil on every level. I just hope that woman wasn't really pregnant.

BAMA fired Mike Price before he even coached a game for committing adultery. I love Nick Saban, but if he pulled something like Pitino did then that would be the end of my admiration for him, regardless of how many games he wins.

It's sad that sports has come to trump values and morality in today's society. It wasn't always like that. And certainly there are still good players and good coaches who do have tremendous character. But Tiger Woods' latest Nike add seems to summarize the climate of our culture: "Winning takes care of everything." I think Christ will have the last word on that one though.

According to testimonies from former Auburn football players, more than half the players on the 2010 national championship team were using an illegal drug called "synthetic marijuana." It's not necessarily shocking to learn that Auburn football players were using "synthetic marijuana." What's shocking is that at an agricultural college like Auburn they couldn't figure out how to grow their own.

Why would anyone like Ferguson?

He's curmudgeonly, yes, but he is the most successful football manager in history I would suggest. Been instrumental in seeing Manchester United's rise and rise over 26 years and encouraged a wee chap from the age of 11 years to go on and become become a footballing star, namely David Beckham.

Like him, can't say as I do not know the guy but admire his talent, yes!

David Beckham has apparently announced his retirement from football (soccer). While not the brightest chap on the block he certainly has created a brand identity and made a lot of cash to boot.

While on the surface Beckham is the type of athlete that I would usually not like (pretty boy, married a pop star celebrity, overrated player, etc.), I have actaully gained a lot of respect for him. He seems to be a classy individual who has been a great ambassador for the sport. He's remarkably humble considering his looks, fame, and fortune. He's not the greatest footballer ever, but when it comes to set pieces nobody was better. So congrats to Beckham on a great career!

So I've never really followed NBA much, but I've been meaning to change that, and I was thinking about declaring an official allegiance soon. Since there are no teams in my native southern Ohio and I'll be moving to Memphis in the fall, the Grizzlies seem like a logical choice. But since they're doing well now, is it possible to start rooting for them without being perceived as a bandwagonner?

Just do it! The Grizzlies are killing it, and you're moving to Memphis. Feeling like a bandwagon-jumper is pretty common when you first start cheering for a team in a sport that is new to you, especially if they're doing really well. The feeling goes away after a couple seasons of loyalty.
