WOW!!! That was quite the Iron Bowl. Tough fighting on both sides. The end score definitely does not do that game justice.
The Civil War wasn't as much of a challenge. The Ducks led 30-3 at halftime and coasted to a 47-19 victory.

Oh, that's right.  You're Pennsylvanian and whatnot.  Did you cheer the Eagles?

What!?!?!  Are you insane? I'm a Steelers fan. The other side of the state is so close to NJ that you can practically taste the toxic fumes that emanate from it. If you live in PA, you are either a Pittsburgh fan or a Philadelphia fan. There is no mixing, although I did meet a guy once who was a Phillies fan in baseball and also a Steelers football fan. He was hated by people on both sides.
God bless!

The fact that you are equivocating the Steelers and Eagles makes me want to travel to Florida, cut your stupid state off from the rest of the country and let it float to Cuba.

So hecma can't decide whether to root for the Steelers or the Eagles, sometimes rooting for one, sometimes rooting for the other? That's what it means to equivocate. ;)

That's how I've been this year.  I'm closer to Pittsburgh but the Eagles have been amazing.  Not only in their wins but their games have been very exciting and entertaining.  Anybody watch the Steelers vs. Titans game last week?  Wow.

All I know is this: My Bills are 7-5 and are looking very good at avoiding a losing season this year, because  have a hard time believing they will lose to the Raiders. Hopefully make it to 9-7 and even higher, aka the division, but ill be happy with 8-8 or 9-7, but i want playoffs.

Well, Gebre, it looks as if your team's next opponent will be the Seminoles of Florida State. My team's next game will likely be against the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian. Then if your Tide and my Ducks win, it will be your boys against mine for the national championship. ;)

After looking at the NCAA scoring rankings, it looks as if TCU (2nd in scoring average) + Oregon (3rd in scoring average) = a whole lot of points. ;D

I can't wait to play FSU! I've been hoping for a chance to humble Jameis Winston. I really think we're the better team, and I hope I'm right. Your Ducks concern me a lot more. I hope we get a chance to play each other. It would be a great game. Let's both take care of our business so we can have a Ducks v. TIDE National Championship.  :)

We just had another team make a case for best prep football team ever in the state of Oregon today. Winning the championship game for the state's biggest schools by a final score of 49-0 to cap off a playoff run in which they won all five games by an average margin of 44 points will kinda do that. This team actually did lose once this year, but that was to an out-of-state team then ranked No. 1 in the nation.

Make that eleven losses. I can't imagine the coaching staff will feel secure about their jobs in the off-season.

Whoever plays in the college football championship game would have played 15 regular season games.   :o

The team in bold is my favorite to win the championship....

Alabama
Ohio St.
Florida St.

Oregon

They count in a team's overall record - even if the playoff/bowl games are played 2-4 weeks after the "end" of the regular season.

My issue is that the college football season is becoming as long as the NFL regular season (and even high school football has seen their season grow longer).

The coloured playoff uniforms for NCAA

Most notably are the ducks,
with the all green jersey that is, simple, unlike what the ducks normally are

If Marcus wins the Heisman, you do realize that Carson Palmer is the only Heisman winning QB to have moderate success in the NFL.  Hopefully Marcus is not a bust like the other Heisman winners before him.

Don't rain on today's parade by thinking so far into the future.

BTW, have you forgotten about such Heisman winning QB's as Paul Hornung, Roger Staubach, and Jim Plunkett? Two of them are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and a third won both Super Bowls he started.

Congrats! Can't believe Amari Cooper didn't finish second. But perhaps Mariota and Cooper will have the chance to face each other in the National Championship. I'm kind of glad that they slighted Amari like that. That'll just motivate him even more. But Mariota was deserving, and he seems like a classy guy. Glad to see anyone restore dignity to the trophy after it was tarnished by Jameis Winston last year.

I'm just happy to see Marcus become the first Duck, and the second athlete from either of Oregon's two biggest universities after Beaver QB Terry Baker in 1962, to win the Heisman after Joey Harrington and LaMichael James fell short in their Heisman bids. Not only did Marcus do Oregon proud, but he also brought great joy to his home state of Hawaii.

(Now if Ndamukong Suh will continue to work on cleaning up his game...)

Bills <3

By this win, the Bills have gone 4-0 against the NFC North, and, at worst, an 8-8 season and a .500 record, first since 2004 I believe.

In addition, with a victory next week against the raiders, bills cam have a winning season :-)

Why would the Raiders want to do that? It looks as if they've found a decent QB in Derek Carr.

If the Raiders don't need Marcus Mariota, some team is desperate enough to trade 1st and 2nd round draft picks just to move up in the draft - like how Washington obtained RG3.

OK. So what? That happens every year.

Marcus Mariota just won the Heisman. Can we not just celebrate that without worrying about something over which Marcus has no control: where he's going to be selected in next year's draft (assuming he even declares himself eligible for the draft, which he hasn't done yet)?

One of my trivia teammates came to me last week and asked my opinion on whether he should use the Rams or Ravens defense in his fantasy league.  The Rams were coming off 2 straight shutouts and playing an offensively depleted team in the Cardinals.  The Ravens secondary is porous and they went up against Jacksonville and Blake Bortles.  I told my teammate to stick with the Rams defense....

Well, both the Rams and Ravens gave up 12 pts - which translates to 6 pts in typical fantasy football scoring.  So far, so good, right?

The Ravens sacked Bortles 8 times while the Rams only registered 1 sack.  Since a sack is 1 pt in fantasy football scoring, the Ravens picked up 8 pts vs. 1 pt for the Rams.

The Ravens also had an interception and a forced fumble - which result in 3 more pts.  The Rams had a sack and a forced fumble.

Total - Ravens, 17 pts. and Rams, 9 pts.

Now I know why I don't participate in fantasy football.   :P

Tony Romo passes Troy Aikman

With a 25-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, Tony Romo became the Dallas Cowboys' all-time leader in passing yards, surpassing Hall of Famer Troy Aikman...

IRS to auction deferred Mets contract

Darryl Strawberry did the work, but now you can collect his money from the New York Mets. Next month, the Internal Revenue Service is auctioning off the remaining annuity from the deferred compensation Strawberry agreed to when he signed a six-year contract with the Mets almost 30 years ago, according to an online posting on the U.S. Department of Treasury website.

The total value of the contract, which covered his 1985 through 1990 seasons, was $7.1 million, but nearly 40 percent of his $1.8 million team option in 1990 ($700,000) was deferred and put into an annuity with a 5.1 percent annual interest rate. On Jan. 20, the IRS will auction off the right to collect what will amount to roughly $1.28 million paid by Sterling Mets LP, parent company of the Mets, in 223 monthly installments...
