Tennis star of the future?

19 year old Australian Nick Kyrgios came from 2 sets down and saved 9 match points in defeating Richard Gasquet of France during the 2nd round of Wimbledon.

Brazil over Chile on penalty kicks.

Chile was the better team today. They dominated the second half but then decided to play for penalty kicks in overtime. When I saw them resorting to that strategy I knew they would lose. They should have stayed aggressive in the overtime period like they were in the second half. I really think they would have won. It made me sick. I can't stand Brazil.

I didn't think I could be more upset than I was after Chile lost. But after what happened to Mexico today I don't know if I will recover.

How so? The only Mexican player that was any good was the goal keeper. Dos Santos wasn't good, even the Mexican coach though as much. It should have been 3-1 because the Netherlands didn't get that penalty.

They're good guys too. They rejected their bonus in favor of the money going towards an upgraded training facility for the future of the team.

Tonight we have Belgium-America and Switzerland-Argentina coming up.

I'm willing to bet that Belgium and Argentina are going to win. Then Argentina is going to win against Belgium. The Netherlands will defeat Costa Rica and Argentina.

Germany will win against France and Brazil will win against Colombia. Then Germany will win against Brazil.

The finals will be between the Netherlands and Germany. Germany will probably win that match.

Nick Kyrgios fires 37 aces as the 144th ranked player defeats Nadal in 4 sets to advance to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

Great effort at the end after falling behind 0-2, but not quite enough. Belgium 2, USA 1 after extra time. And with that, all the group winners advance to the quarterfinals.

US Soccer needs to develop about 10 players with Ronaldo's skill set and place more players in the elite European and South American leagues.

MLS is good but not good enough.

Without this man, the US would have lost like 8-0.  16 saves! The guy is relentless and he deserved a better team than this today.

Everything goes according to plan. The free kick of the US in the last minute of the extra time was impressive.

In two days time we'll get to see France-Germany. That should be entertaining.

Everything goes according to plan. The free kick of the US in the last minute of the extra time was impressive.

In two days time we'll get to see France-Germany. That should be entertaining.

I was hoping that it could have been the final, but oh well.

Nick Kyrgios falls to Milos Raonic of Canada - setting up Raonic vs. Roger Federer in the Wimbledon semi-finals on Friday.  The other semi-final has Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria vs. Novak Djokovic of Serbia - two newcomers vs. two of the "old guard."
