Been watching a lot of Showtime Lakers footage, what a team.

Is it gay cause the colors are purple and gold?

Some of the sports questions asked in bar trivia.  I missed the horse question.  No one knew the baseball question and I'm preparing myself for a possible question on the women drivers in the Indy 500.

I'm still waiting for the Heat to prove that they're as great as everyone says they are. Barely won in OT at home against a woefully outmatched Pacers team. Weak, man. Weak. If the Heat wants to earn my respect, they're gonna have to do a lot better than that.

Yes. The Heat should sweep this series and win the rest of the games easily. They are abundantly more talented and have much more depth. If they want to prove their greatness, then they'll have to do a lot better than tonight.

The Pacers have one of the worst backcourts I've ever seen. I like Hibbert, but he has to do better than 5 rebounds. He should be a 20/20 guy every night. But he took responsibility after the game and seems to know that he's gotta step it up. But Indiana has no depth, no 3 point consistency, and horrible point guards. They play pretty good defense, but it totally collapsed on that final play. Awful. And their rebounding was atrocious too. And even with all that, they still had the lead in OT on Miami's home court with 2 seconds left.

It was a fun game to watch though.

I somehow don't think the Heat really care to prove their greatness to ignorant fans like you and me. That debate is for us, not for them.

That's because Hibbert wasn't on the floor for that play.

Don't worry Gebre, James will have The Look TM in Game 2 and get 40 points.

I really do hate Wade though. Poor Ray Allen was just useless.

Pacers own, saw plenty of that last year too.

So I've never really followed NBA much, but I've been meaning to change that, and I was thinking about declaring an official allegiance soon. Since there are no teams in my native southern Ohio and I'll be moving to Memphis in the fall, the Grizzlies seem like a logical choice. But since they're doing well now, is it possible to start rooting for them without being perceived as a bandwagonner?

Part A: YOu should be a Raptores fan, being it fits with all the disappointment you are used to, being from around Cincy :-P

Part B: If youre moving there, then nope. And besides, at least to me, it doesnt matter when someone joins  a fanbase, just, better stick with them once they start sucking.
Now that you mention it, I do love dinosaurs and the premise of a professional basketball team in Canada. I already liked the Grizzlies Facebook page though.

Justin Bieber likes the Raptors, you want to be associated with him?

Or the scum that comes with the Lakers?

Be an OKC fan and be done with it.

Durant will be better than Jordan.

I like Durant a lot. But good grief, why can't people just stop with the Jordan comparisons? He'll always stand alone. The league is much softer now, and the stars are much more protected than Jordan was in his day. Most of y'all are probably too young to remember the "Jordan rules." Lebron, Kobe, Durant, and others today have never faced anything like that. These guys are great. Enjoy their talents and celebrate their greatness. But just don't go nuts and start declaring people "the guy whose gonna be better than Jordan."

Durant's post season numbers this year were better than Jordan's over his career.

Check that off the bucket list.

And I don't know about softer, I always thought there was alot of great competition to go around. Its not Wilt Chamberlain easy.

That's why I think it's impossible to compare different eras because the rules had to change and the numbers Wilt put up could only happen when they did.

If anything it's harder now, that's why it's so damn impressive when Lebron puts up the numbers he does.

Hey Achronos if the Pacers make the championship you should host an OC.net get-together at one of their home games for us Midwesterners.

Soft as South Beach. Apparently, Superman left the building with three minutes left. I never saw Jordan literally throw the game away like that. And I really do feel bad for Lebron, because he's the best player on the planet. But people are so desperate to declare him better than Jordan that he can't possibly live up to it. Just let the guy be the greatest player in the game today and leave it at that. He is clearly nowhere close to the cold blooded closer that Jordan was.

These have been two great games. How in the heck the Pacers even find a way to stay close to the Heat is astounding. I don't care if the Heat does win it all, which I still think they will do. They are a soft team. Weak. With the talent they have they should have swept the Pacers easily. Like I said, Soft as South Beach.

Awesome.

Much better game tonight from Hibbert. It aggravates me how poorly conditioned he is. He's always completely spent in the fourth quarter. If he were properly in shape he'd be unstoppable. And I don't blame him, I blame coaching. His coaches have to know that he's not in top shape, and that should have been remedied long before the playoffs. And I like Hibbert a lot. Nice kid and tons of potential. Knows how to use either hand. But sometimes he relies on the soft touch close to the basket rather than having that killer instinct. He catches it in the paint and it should be a dunk every time. But he's often too tired to take it home with authority. Just an observation.

Yes, he is a borefest.

Stop worshiping Michael Jordan, dude. Didn't God say, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."? I also don't hear any clamor yet to declare King James better than MJ, except maybe in your own head.

BTW, you do realize that Phil Jackson, MJ's own coach for so many years, said he would rather have Bill Russell as the foundation of his dream team than Jordan?
