Is it just me or is everyone not able to see avatars? When I try to set mine in my profile I get this message: "The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved."

It's disabled temporarily :)

Past posts reflect stages of my life before my baptism and may not be accurate expositions of Orthodox teaching. Also, I served as an Orthodox priest from 2008-2013, before resigning.

I still cannot add my avatar. I see others but I do not get a prompt to add it anywhere in my personal settings. What am I doing wrong? Or where is the screen for adding it? I feel like I am missing it somewhere, but please help!! St. John the Theologian wants to be here in icon.

Please pray for me,
Panagiotis

For me, after I hit profile up top, it was at the top of the "forum profile information" part.

Is there a limit or special format for the Avatars?
St Basil the Great (330-379 A.D.): “I think then that the one goal of all who are really and truly serving the Lord ought to be to bring back to union the churches who have at different times and in diverse manners divided from one another.”

Yours seems to be working now?  Usually it's something like 100x100 or smaller, and a jpg or gif, I think.

Why not do a Google search, save it to your hard drive, resize it, and then plug it on in? That's what I did (well, ok, with a lot of fiddling to get it stanger looking)? :)
