I am not sure of a source, as it uses many books. I was helping Batiushka prepare for the Matins and there were many books involved for the choir and readers.

Went to it this morning. Lovely service. Our choir director was surprised by how many of us were there. We even had a few Eritreans, who usually only come on Sundays. We've had this Coptic priest show up most Sundays too - and this morning as well.
Mor, have any idea if the services in their prayer books correspond well to ours?

It depends on whether you are talking in general terms or specifically with regard to Bridegroom Matins. For instance, I know from a cursory reading of certain Coptic texts that there are some parallels with Greek texts. Beyond such an observation, I could not tell you much because I am not as familiar with Coptic services as I am with Byzantine services. We do have some Copts here, however, and I hope they come out of the woodwork to answer this one better. I keep accessing the site referenced above to read the texts, but I get errors each time, and I cannot read them. Is anyone else having this problem? |
