Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.

You look a bit like Zack Braff.

Well, that meal looks good for sure!  :)

The book was a prop, I put on the shirt just for that pic, and I took off my glasses, even though I haven't got my contacts yet and I was close to blind. I guess I sort of have an insecure geek version of the "myspace angle" going on. On the other hand, I'm "reading" Dostoevsky, so people at this forum are not allowed to criticize.

Augustin is part of the bourgeois capitalist system working for The Man?

I'm shaken.  I did not see that one coming.

Guess, we know you know nothing now about even the basics of class theory.

I would suggest reading up on words such as bourgeois and proletariat and the counter-revolutionary notions of change via altering one's personal choices.

So augustin, how well propertied are you?

Explain to me how you are part of the bourgeois within the notion of classic Marxist theory.

Perhaps in some post Marxist, late capitalist debate, we can talk about how rent and living in certain geographic locations as amounts to the control of capital, but this is a more complex subject and hardly the context in which most people use the tradition terms for class to connote.

Comrade Augustin has a computer. This makes him burgeois. When the Glorious Communist Revolution finally succeeds I'll be sure to tell Commissar Jamal all about Augustin's computer-owning ways.

Well, what I said and what Augustin correctly noted, he is a part of the system, not necessarily that he is bourgeois. My comment was a feeble attempt at humor, Orthonorm.  See it for what it is, not what you wish to project upon it.

Part of the system, not part of the bourgeoisie. Unless there is some theory that reduces the system to its master-class.

Certainly, once you have a global capitalist system . . . I'll stop so it doesn't get kicked to politics. In short, globalism and rent as a primary economic indicator of relative wealth throws a wrench in traditional Marxist theory as understood by those who critique it.

The whole problem of rent, read intellectual property, has made it to the mainstream with Krugman having to discuss it in the NYT recently.

Try going to the actual pic and clicking on it, so that the screen goes to a place where you can post comments and edit it and such, then try right clicking and either copying the shortcut from there, or going to properties and manually copying the link? :)  Don't know how familiar you are with it, I can post some pics showing what I mean if that'd help?

How old is the little one?
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

Since I've brought her up so much on that most wonderful of threads, here's the little lady:

Such untainted innocence in her face.  :)  Does she know how immoral she forces you to become when she's hungry?

If she does she doesn't seem to care.  :P

Bob and Michal- Thank you for the compliments! You've made us both blush.  :D
Ecc 10:19- Men prepare a meal for enjoyment, and wine makes life merry, and money is the answer to everything.

Gorgeous, ZZ the both of you!  ;D
To God be the Glory in all things! Amen!

Only pray for me, that God would give me both inward and outward strength, that I may not only speak, but truly will; and that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one. St.Ignatius of Antioch.Epistle to the Romans.

Of all the pics posted on this over the last few pages, the brunette in the middle here is still the cutest. In fact, I hereby verify that she is as cute as a button.
