Another tourist photo. At least if I was able to attach one.
Sorry brother, but the skinny jeans need to go. I saw the thumbnail and was thinking, wow she's kinda cute...but then I noticed...Alpo...Alpo's a he!!!! Then I opened it up and noticed the beard. There's a lot to do there if you want to avoid the andro route. Let me know if you want the make over advice. The andro route? I'm sorry if I disappointed both of you. I was abroad so I tried to look like at least somewhat decent. I had to leave my gayer clothes at home. I try to work on that if I visit US at some point. The good/disturbing news is that if you ever feel ugly or down on yourself you can recall this moment and say to yourself, "I might be alone right now, but Vamrat thinks I'm cute!" Hopefully it'll get you through...

If I was offended by comments like that I'd deserve a lot picking. Liza has a heart of gold, hasn't she? Time for a question from the local grammar Nazi.... Which sentence sounds more natural to the native English speakers on the forum: Liza has a heard of gold, hasn't she? Liza has a heart of gold, doesn't she? Liza's got a heart of gold, hasn't she?

Which sentence sounds more natural to the native English speakers on the forum: Liza has a heard of gold, hasn't she? Liza has a heart of gold, doesn't she? Liza's got a heart of gold, hasn't she? Liza has a heart of gold, hasn't she? - Very natural, but a bit formal - would be used by careful speakers. Otherwise, more colloquially, Liza's got a heart of gold, doesn't she? However, English being what it is, there are regional and personal preferences. Nothing really "unnatural" about any of the sentences.

Nothing really "unnatural" about any of the sentences. Interesting - hasn't she seems odd to me since tag questions usually repeat the auxiliary verb, which in this case is does. The tricky thing with teaching English is that usage changes a lot faster than what grammarians say is proper. And when I try to ask people they usually say they think is correct rather than what they normally say. So I have a hard time balancing what to use in the classroom. Who cares? Does a compliment for someone Godly on this forum bother you to the point that you have to resort to this kind of triviality to wreck the feeling of the moment? I thought I had made it clear that I made no objection about the comment itself, rather I was curious about usage. I guess I should have split this off and started a thread in the English board.

american english cracks me up! here in the uk the average person (not just a posh person) would say: 'liza has a heart of gold, hasn't she?' so vamrat wins the english competition and the londoner would say: liza's go' 'n 'eart o' gold innit?' so lbk was close, but anyone dropping their 't's and 'h's so much would be from the london area, and in order to live in london, you have to say 'innit' all the time. it is short for 'isn't it' and is used at the end of any question, irrrespective of which verb should actually be used in negation. back on topic, i look a little like this lady (a slightly older version with thinner face) http://www.sew-what.us/images/kirtle.chemise.1_2frq.jpgmy clothes a slightly more modern too (not much!)

Here's me last Friday with my sweet niece Lily! I had promised to take them "out" somewhere this summer.....so, on their last day off, I finally took them to the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village....and of course it had to be 97 degrees....as we walked through the mostly outdoor museum. Thank God there was a breeze!

The first are my three daughters, two sons, son-in-law, and me, at my daughter Betsy's wedding The second are my three girls (Betsy, Caelin, & Katy) at Betsy's vet school graduation The third is a birthday celebration at a pub with my eldest son (Timm), eldest daughter (Katy), and two nephews (Cathal & Breandan) Last - me, in what my irreverent adult kids refer to as "Dad's Irish politician picture"
