So my children wanted my wife to braid my hair. First they told me I looked like Snoop Dog, then they told me I looked like Willie Nelson. Although Snoop and Willie certainly have one thing in common, I don't have much in common with either one of them. Although I most definitely prefer Willie's music to Snoop's.  Wink

The Ghost of Marc1152

I saw a ghost on a CW battlefield once.. Two of them actually.

I mistaken for a Ghost once. I was coming home from a re enactment. Three days in the field and you look and smell pretty realistic.

I decided to stop by the Balls Bluff battlefield which I was passing on the road. It is not built up at all, just woods.

There is a small cemetery on it with a stone wall around it. I was there in uniform looking around. It was somewhat dark due to all the Tree overhang.

A car pulled up and some tourists piled out and came around the stone wall into the cemetery. They took one look at me and backed up LOL.

I had to shout at them that I was not a Ghost and calm them down..     Grin

Another time there was a big maneuver ( to give our officers practice) waaaay out in the woods in PA, unadvertised to the Public. About  three thousand on each side.

I was detached from the main force commanding a small group of what are known as "Berdan's" Sharpshooters who wear green uniforms and were being used to scout ahead.

We came to a narrow paved road that had a small car parked on the side with two people inside. There was lots of woods around. We were resting, I dont think they saw us.

All of a sudden, rabbits started streaming out of the woods, then deer running for their life and hoping over the road. A few minutes later Federal Cavalry came jumping through. Ten horses, twenty , a hundred. Then infantry came tumbling out and were crossing the road, hundreds of guys.

They had seen enough. They threw the car into reverse and sped away down the road backwards. I can imagine the conversation: " I don't really know what's going on but I'm not going to wait around to find out"
