With all due respect, your daughter just did what you nearly accomplished.
Never again, with intent, will I use the definite article in English as part of the name of the country I used to refer to as the Ukraine. (I will continue to do so in other languages where there is no choice in standard use.)
Harvard? Really? Does that beaming glow run through your entire family?
Did I mention I was and have been an early wikipedia donor?
You do realize I have made more than a few less than oblique comments that you are my favorite poster from Ukraine?
Just kidding.
From all signs you have an incredibly lovely and intelligent family. Congratulations and Many Years!
Thank you so much. Yes, all three of us - Lesya, Maryana, and I - have this habit of smiling most of the time. My students always like it, even if they get less-than-perfect grades from me.

Maryana has studied for ~4.5 years at Harvard, in a Ph.D. program at their Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She has the "ABD" status ("all but dissertation"). However, right now her Wikipedia job consumes her so much that she does not do anything about her dissertation. Some time ago, it caused some frustration in her mom and me, but we got over it. After all, if she does not complete her Ph.D., she will still have her Master's degree from Harvard, which is already a nice achievement.
Also, her husband, Ryan, a lawyer by profession, is now a Ph.D. student at the UC Berkeley, so Maryana does not want to go back to East Coast. Looks like they like California very much, even though Maryana is from Ukraine and Ryan is from Texas.
