Let me try this... Didn't work. I give up. Selam You know...I think men look better with beards, and you DO look a lot like the man in the upper right photo! Yes, men do look better with beards, more so than women True, but still-- we women need our "beards" in order to sneak into Mt. Athos! Just kidding!

Can anyone tell me how to post my photo here? My wife was able to send a picture of me to my email, and then I saved it to my Microsoft Word documents. What do I need to do now? I'm so ignorant about these things. Thanks. Selam If you have photo's already posted on facebook, myspace, Orthodoxcircle, blog.......etc. Then all you have to do is Put a link in between this: [ img ] [ /img ] ICXC NIKA

But we women need our beards in order to sneak into Mt. Athos! Just kidding! Not beard related, exactly, but speaking of women passing as men... The saint that my daughter was named after, Athanasia, tricked people into believing that she was a male monk. Athanasia had seperated from her husband so that they could both pursue monasticism. At one point Athanasia met her former husband, and she had changed so much that the guy didn't even recognize his own former wife. He lived with her for 12 years after that without realising who she was. So says the hagiography in the book The Lives of the Spiritual Mothers, anyway.

I don't seem to be able to get the image thing to work. When I tried directly accessing the link that you used, I didn't get anything either. Did you grab the link from your address bar in the browser, or right-click on the image and get the link that way (e.g. by copying it from "properties")? I usually use the latter method.EDIT--Nevermind, I see that it's working now

Trying to decide if I should shave my goatee or not... I just trimmed it down today, and I'm considering doing away with it completely. It's been about 3-4 weeks now, and I think I look kinda sketch with it on...

Me and one of my cats, Sketch, who thinks that he's a parrot and that I'm Long John Silver. Actually, Sketch is a very pious cat. See the Icon of St. Paraskevi in the background? Sketch wont eat his dinner unless her lamp is lit first. I think he developed this habit because I would always light the lamp on coming home before feeding them when they were kittens. Sketch's brother, Charcoal, on the other hand is heterodox I think- he'll eat no matter what. Or perhaps he's just a glutton. Sorry, I couldnt resist [including George's post since] ... this is that was indeed a most humerous post!

Hmmm.. Everyone seems to be having problemzzz.. Well, here are the steps to post your picz: 1. Go to the site (e.g. Facebook, Friendster, etc.) 2. Go to the picture (e.g. Profile Pictures, Albums, etc.) 3. If you are now looking at the picture (not its thumbnail), right click it and click on 'Copy Image Address' (or the like). 4. And put what you copied between and

Pardon me, while I open up my urban dictionary. Don't be a hater. I am not a hater, I am just a desperate small-town Deep South USA state-run university teacher where my students (like 99% of them) do not distinguish "accept" from "except," "John's" from "Johns's," "I do" from "I does," "he does" from "he do," etc. I know, as long as the US spends more than all the other countries of the world combined on its military budget, it does not really matter... but it still causes me pain. Demetrios, Heorhij's view has nothing to do with hate, and everything to do with proper, clear expression. Sometimes it takes those who have learned English as a second or even third language to point out the modern problems in spoken and written language of so-called native speakers of English. Heorhij, I feel the same way as you do on the sloppiness of English expression, spelling, grammar and usage of the past generation. Could you imagine such liberties being taken with languages like German, for instance? This slackness is not confined to America, it's also infected the English language in countries like (gasp!) Great Britain. Even the BBC, until recently a paragon of public English expression, has stooped to howlers such as "There's many people who have ..." (should be "there are many people who have ..."), "The amount of services ..." (should be number of services), and, one of my pet peeves, "woman journalist/doctor/politician ...", when it should be " female". Do we hear "man doctor", or "man journalist"? No, we do not. So why "woman", where it should be "female"? Oyyyy!!

I thought you were a guy ! Guess not I hope it's not a guy... I'd feel really awkward for thinking that a guy had pretty eyes

Some ladies have commented on my eyelashes and told me those should belong to a lady. That usually puts me at an awkward position, wondering if I should take that as a compliment on how awesome my lashes are, or perhaps there's some sort of abnormal bodily mismatch in my looks. Then others say, "You look like you have mascara on." Ummm...thank you?

Vain existence can never exist, for \\\"unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.\\\" (Psalm 127)
If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.
