Thanks for the comments. I saw the Google map car drive by, of course, so I've been keeping an eye out to see if they really were recording just then. And yes, I do feel a bit special  ;D.

Is it a fin-de-siecle painting of a failed artist hooked on absinthe? Is it Cyrillic after one too many pint of beer? Who knows...

I had absinthe on my last birthday. I didn't turn green, but having some vodka made me turn Russian. I don't even smoke, I just thought an unlit cigarette would make me more Slavic.

Absinthe does not really have an effect different from other kinds of alcohol, though some feel the herbal essences therein may produce a heightened alertness or some other mild effect.

The first time I ever had it was the last.  Many bizarre things happened that night.

Well, I can't speak for your experience, but there is nothing in the drink itself that should produce hallucinations, make-out-sessions with Dracula, streams of decadent French poetry, etc. There was even a time in France when it was a common household beverage that the whole family would enjoy.

I mostly said that because I liked the cleverness of my phrase.  But Absinthe, Chartreuse, and a few other liquors certainly have unique effects on me compared to whiskey, gin, etc.  I like absinthe, but anymore, I won't drink anything more than 2 shots worth.  It's sneaky.  Think about things like wine and champagne.  They are a bit different than drinking normal liquor or beer.

No way though is drinking three glasses of Knob Creek equal to drinking three glasses of Chartreuse or Absinthe.

I drunk absinthe once or twice, I did not like it because I'm not into herbal (especially anise) liquors. But from what it seems even if thujone causes some funny effects you will be drunk much faster than affected with it.

Cars are okay. Dogs, tho -- the Bishop might have some work to do if a dog is seen in the sanctuary.

Makes sense. I thought I'd ask someone who shaves that much area what works best. I've bought electric razors in the past but I seem to be just too thick- and coarse-haired for them -- maybe I'm doing it wrong.

The only time I've experienced that was when I had a full beard and was taking it off, in which case I now usually cut most of it off with scissors first.

Our youngest son Nash taking a bath on our porch a couple weeks ago. Our septic is having issues, and the repair guy can't come out until later this week. So all laundry/dishes/baths are done outdoors at the moment. Fortunately the younger kids absolutely adore taking baths in laundry buckets/bins on the porch while looking at the view and listening to the birdsong.

Yes we who are far from sainthood we can recognize a living saint and I'm talking from personal experience.Yes they are gentle soo gentle it can not be described it is like gentleness and humility in one and also they have this light this energy it's beyond words...and when you are near them you feel ecstatic and very happy
