Hey, I just wanted to point out that there's an icon depicting God the Father on the iconostasis. Now let's watch people freak out about it! By the way, I cannot believe how beautiful the temple is. What church is it?

Freak out!...there are no Icons of God the Father; there is only Icons of the Father seen in Christ. Even angels who are spirit are depicted not as they are, but as they appear to us through Christ, whose messanger they are...IMO and what I have understood. Yes, nice interior of heaven on earth.

Hello Gebre,
I noticed under your name is mentioned "Orthodox Tewahedo / Non-Chalcedonian" yet the photo you provided was taken showing your sons serving at a Chalcedonian church (in the GOA under the Patriarch of Constantinople). I was just curious about this discrepancy. Have you touched on this in another thread?
In Christ,
Jason

My avatar is "actually" me. There was a website that's now been deactivated that would take one of your photos, and re-image it Simpsons-style. So, it's been a bit enhanced, but at its heart it's actually me.

Let me try this... Didn't work. I give up. Selam You know...I think men look better with beards, and you DO look a lot like the man in the upper right photo! Yes, men do look better with beards, more so than women True, but still-- we women need our "beards" in order to sneak into Mt. Athos! Just kidding! Beards? That sounds funny. I wonder how a woman would feel in Mt Athos if they found a way to sneak in unnoticed.

For those that may not know this type of cap is a шајкача (Šajkača). I got mine at the monastery from a vendor. You might try this site: http://www.malasrpskaprodavnica.com/user/hats-caps/4_51_2_0_0/category.jspI didn't see one that had the double eagle emblem on it like mine though.
