Just as I predicted. OrthoMan ======= The official website of the Kyiv-Halych Metropolia published a press release from the press office of the Patriarchal Curia of the Greek Catholic Church of Kyiv Thursday regarding the 24th session of the Synod of Bishops of the Metropolitan Province of Kyiv-Halych. Here are a couple of extracts from the release - 1) From the body of the release: From 2d to 3d of September, 2004 at the Marian Retreat Center in the village of Zarvanytsya, Ternopil region, the Twenty fourth Session of the Synod of Bishops of the Metropolitan Province of Kyiv-Halych of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church took place. All the Bishops of the UGCC who serve on the territory of Ukraine participated in the meeting. 2) From the list of resolutions passed by the Synod: Direct the Patriarchal Statute of the UGCC for revision to the Commission on Church Organization and to appropriate experts-theologians to insert amendments and additions, discussed during the Metropolitan Synod, studying them and referring them during the next Synod. Entrust to the Religious Orders of our Church to pay particular attention to the need to activate their Pastoral Service in the Eastern Ukraine. Approve the text of the Pastoral message regarding the affirmation of Patriarchal organization for the UGCC. Follow the link to the entire press release: http://www.ugcc.org.ua/eng/press-releases/article;960/========

And how dare you insinuate that Orthodox are not Christian. One can only hope that CatholicEagle was only expressing his happiness that the UGCC was "activating their pastoral service" and that he was not insinuating that the Orthodox are not Christians, but only he can answer that one. I hear this every week at Church[well almost]. It is not right to use the words of the Liturgy or of the Bible[I was thinking of using a psalm agianst you]] to fight against each other. THis would be a sacrilege[according to the Catholic religion]

[How precisely do you end a schism this way?] [No,silly. THey are doing this to bring an end to the 950 year old schism.] Exactly! The RCC has been using the Unia as a way of deception against the uneducated Orthodox for 400+ years and rather than end the schism it has brought nothing but hatred and distrust on both sides. The RCC and the Orthodox have agreed that the Unia IS NOT THE BRIDGE BETWEEN ORTHODOXY AND ROMAN CATHOLICISM. Too bad the Uniates haven't gotten the word. Awhile back I predicted things like this and the establishment of a Uniate diocese in Russia itself was just a matter of time once the UGCC moved its headquarters to Kiev. And many of you chastised me for it. "By their deeds they shall be known." The words may change but the actions remain the same as far as the RCC is concerned. [I hear this every week at Church[well almost]. It is not right to use the words of the Liturgy or of the Bible[I was thinking of using a psalm agianst you] to fight against each other. THis would be a sacrilege[according to the Catholic religion] ? Why would they be singing a hymn asking for victory to the Orthodox Christians in a Roman Catholic Church? Please expalin. Orthodoc

Just a note: you can't report my posts--I'm the administrator. What am I going to do, ban myself? LOL
What I meant is that you sound very immature in dealing with the problem of the religious groups in Ukraine. The matter is much more complex. Calling them Chrsitian soldiers seems to be geared towards inciting further discord.

No,silly. THey are doing this to bring an end to the 950 year old schism. Hang on a sec, I wasn't even talking about why the UGCC is "activating their pastoral service", I was merely commenting on your post. And I may be silly, but there's nothing wrong with that, right? In Christ, Aaron
