Some Catholic nuns did, until the Vatican condemned Reiki as too much linked to nonChristian spirituality.

I have a 3rd degree, but haven't practised in several years. Guess I have outgrown it.

Everywhere I read about reiki, there was some christian condemning it, as well as some priests. What do you think of it. Is it that evil? Or are people just afraid of what they don't understand. and that is all? Thanks.

Well, there's the fact that the concept of ki is speculative, so there's no proof that the energy reiki claims to tap into even exists. Then, there's the very close association with Buddhism, especially its more esoteric schools (the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai is still very much a hermetic society). So the practice is considered largely incompatible both with Christianity, as a 'gateway to Buddhism', and with science.

Well, there's the fact that the concept of ki is speculative

To generalize:

In its original asian context, Qi was similar to humorism and speculation on the relationship between breath and blood.

In the "West", the concept is often bandied about as some sort of "spiritual" or "divine" energy.

What do you think of it.

It's usually LARP.
