When I finally settled down and answered honestly (as opposed to playing around to see what different outcomes I could get- it seems that if you answer the one question "an allegory" then no matter what else you answer you get Origen) I got St Justin the Martyr.

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

You are St. Melito of Sardis!
You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. You are loyal to the customs of your family, though you do not hesitate to call family members to account for their sins.

That is about as fair and accurate a spiritual appraisal as an internet quiz ever gave me before ;)

stay blessed,

I got St. Melito. Whew! I was hoping really hard I'd get somebody good. Don't know what I'd do if I'd turned out a heretic.  ;)

You are St. Justin Martyr!
You have a positive and hopeful attitude toward the world. You think that nature, history, and even the pagan philosophers were often guided by God in preparation for the Advent of the Christ. You find “seeds of the Word” in unexpected places. You’re patient and willing to explain the faith to unbelievers.

St. Jerome which fits in well with my love of Latin. :D

The description also fits me pretty well: You’re a passionate Christian, fiercely devoted to Jesus Christ and his Church. You are willing to labor long hours in the Lord’s vineyard, and you have little patience with those who are less willing or able to work as you do. Your passions often carry you into temptation zones of wrath, lust, and pride.

St. Justin Martyr...I have not read his works yet, so that's interesting  :)

Although I wouldn't mind being an Origen either...one or two questions I was stuck on could have made me Origen...hehehe...but definitely, I'd stay away from the kitchen sharp supplies...lol

I'm pretty anti-men, as a childhood sexual assault victim.  So I'd gladly answer a quiz entitled Which church mother are you, but this one I'll pass up.

You are Origen!

You do nothing by half-measures. If you’re going to read the Bible, you want to read it in the original languages. If you’re going to teach, you’re going to reach as many souls as possible, through a proliferation of lectures and books. If you’re a guy and you’re going to fight for purity … well, you’d better hide the kitchen shears.

That's awful what happened to you, and I'm so sorry you had to endure it....however, all men are not bad.

Remember, God chose to become incarnate in the form of a man, not a woman...therefore, they can't be all bad.

In any case, not all women are good by default, either.

You’re . . . passionate . . . . Your passions often carry you into . . . wrath, lust, and pride.

I completely forgot about this quiz.  A year later taking it, all of a sudden I become Origen, but this confuses me...lol!

The questions given to me, I didn't like the answers, I simply crossed out what was the most ridiculous that doesn't match my personality.

Oh well...Origen it is...let's see what next year brings  :P

St. Justin Martyr

"You think that nature, history, and even the pagan philosophers were often guided by God in preparation for the Advent of the Christ. You find “seeds of the Word” in unexpected places. You’re patient and willing to explain the faith to unbelievers."

This explains why people at parties wrangle me into philosophical discussions, even when I'm too tired to participate.
