Title: Very Worried
Post by: Rosehip on October 05, 2010, 07:39:32 PM
Please remember me. I am very scared, very worried. I had almost completed nearly 8 months of chemotherapy which was very hard on me, and just last night, to my shock and horror, I discovered I have a lump in my neck: likely swollen lymph nodes just above the right clavicle. I spoke with the dr. in Emergency, and he didn't seem very positive about it at all. I will need to have diagnostic tests done asap.

Oh no, Martha!

You are not only in mine, but, in my mother's prayers, as well.

Remember, you are NOT alone.

Lord, have mercy on Your dear and sweet handmaiden, Martha!  Heal her of all that ails her.  Return her to good health!

Praying, praying, praying!

Saint Nectarios
the Wonderworker,Metropolitan of Pentapolis

Kontakion (Tone 4)
You lived your life in a holy way, O St. Nectarios; being a Bishop rich in wisdom, you have glorified the Lord with your life of virtue; being strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit, you drive out evil spirits and heal the sick. Intercede for those who come to you in faith.

Nectarios lived from 1846 to 1920. He lived and ministered in Greece, Egypt, Libya and the Island of Aegina. He was repeatedly slandered because of his quick ascent in Church office, which caused him to be demoted and even flee from his accusers. Many healings and wonders were performed by him during his life and countless miraculous healings have been attributed to his relics, which remained uncorrupt for many years. He is especially invoked to heal cancer.

(...big hug!)

Lord have mercy. Through the intercessions of our Holy Father St. Nectarios of Aegina, heal your handmaiden, 'Rosehip",  in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. "You lived your life in a holy way, O St. Nectarios; being a Bishop rich in wisdom, you have glorified the Lord with your life of virtue; being strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit, you drive out evil spirits and heal the sick. Intercede for those who come to you in faith."

O Lord our God, Who by word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to this Your servant Rosehip and cure her of every sickness of which she is grieved; lift her up from her bed of pain, and send down upon her Your great mercy, and if it be Your Will, give to her health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen

Rosehip, you will of course be in my prayers and on my commemorations list (I guess Martha is your baptismal name). However, I have to relate to you a saying of a Father (I don't remember who it was) to the effect that times like these are very good opportunities for spiritual growth and indeed joy. I have first hand experience with this: years ago, I was actually dying and praying the Lord's Prayer. I just could not go past "Thy will be done," at which point the most indescribably great sense of peace and contentment came over me. I was still going downhill but I really did not care; I saw my deceased mother and son waiting for me just feet away and I was ready to go, even though I was very sorry for my family's loss and sorrow. Then, the doctor have me some medicine, about the same time that the priest gave me absolution after my last confession (after which I felt even more peace and almost a desire to go on). To make the story short, obviously the Lord wanted for me to stay on, so here I am nine years later. So, no matter what happens, it will be good. In Christ, Kyrill
