Christ is Risen!

I am in Bahrain until early Sunday morning.

Although I am a member of the Russian Orthodox church I am happy to attend an 'Oriental orthodox' church if none other is available as appears to be the case in Bahrain.

However I suspect that one of the churches is not part of the main stream and none have replied to my friendly e-mails.

I would like to make contact. I am loathe to join in with schismatical groupings.

So which is which and how can I contact the correct one before I leave?

In Christ

Aidan

Are you sure that there aren't any Jerusalem Patriarchate's Churches?

Church in Quatar - try contacting them and maybe they'll be able to help you.
If there aren't any EO Churches in Bahrain, Quatar it's not so far :)

I think Qatar is the only Gulf state that is under the Jerusalem Patriarchate.

All other eastern orthodox churches in the Gulf are under the Antiochian Patriarchate - Archdiocese of Baghdad and Kuwait, headed by Metropolitan Constantine.
They have parishes in Baghdad, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Muscat (Oman). As far as I know they collaborate with Syrian embassies in these countries and also with the Syriac Orthodox Church. In my opinion it will be useful to the contact the local Syrian Embassy or Consulate for more information.

Btw local people don't say "eastern orthodox", but "roum orthodox" or "greek orthodox".
