Origins of some of them are easy to find. They are connected to ones first name, nationality, profession, place of living, faith, jurisdiction or the patron Saint but I cannot find the sense of the rest. Let's undercover the secret! So my nick is the easy one. It's my first name, I wonder how many of you figured that What about yours?

Mine is what the priest says to me when I go up to receive communion:
"Handmaiden of God, Maureen, receives the precious body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen."
I always liked the sound of "Handmaiden of God," so I use it as my screen name on all of the Orthodox forums I frequent.

Mine was born in my Chem 101 class, when I had to learn the actinide and lanthanide series of elements. I was intrigued by the name as well as the radioactive properties of ytterbium. The element is dangerous, unstable, and mostly useless. Sort of like Internet discussion.

Comes from Sima Yan, the emperor who united China after a period of war.
For the record, I'm not Chinese, nor do I see myself as an emperor - I was 13 when I came up with the alias, inspired from a video game. Haha
