I don't know what Indian food is. Like a lot of other foods. What makes my hoagie Italian? It's a sham. None of our vendors have realy credentials, besides Amoroso's.

It's actually American food, I guess is where I'm going.

I went to school with one of the Amorosos. One of the most obnoxious people I or my classmates had ever encountered. Thanks to that experience, despite living in the Philly area, I strive to avoid any contact with Amoroso bread products wherever possible.

I wish we had proper Indian restaurants. Around here Indians seem to specialize in crappy pubs instead of food. Most bars with cheap draft beer seem to have an Indian guy behind the counter.
I just need to find out how to say it in Slavonic!

Amoroso (the owner) is one of my customers. I was just making stuff up that it was real Italian, idk...

Maybe I should emigrate to Finland...

I had Subway today, but no Indians to be seen.  It was mediocre.

Someday I am going to make bison curry and eat it with frybread.  Mmmmm.

Bison curry is actually very good.  I hope you enjoy it.

Oh that sounds good.

I love chicken tikka massala and lamb khoury, half and half, on Biryani rice; I like to drink a Mango Lassi followed by a Sweet Lassi.

My father, memory eternal, and I, used to love going to a very comfortable, nicely furnished, yet inexpensive Indian restaurant attached to an Indian food market called the Indian Haweli, where my father would eat yoghurt, which was very easy for him to digest, and I would have aforesaid curries.   They would show Bollywood musicals on TV screens mounted in the restaurant which he loved watching (he loved the joyous nature of these, and also found it charming how in some of the romantic dance numbers, the couple would invariably stop just short of kissing).  We did this together right up until he fell ill in 2012.

I would give away all my posessions to be able to go with him one more time to that Indian restaurant.

Alas, it is also closed, appropriately enough, and I have moved away.

I beg of all members of OCNet to make it their new years resolution to adopt the Golden Rule in threads and be nice to each other.  It’s the Orthodox Christian thing to do.  Be nice, and remember, in the immortal words of Patrick Swayze of blessed memory, that no one ever wins a fight.

Also, if I have ever offended you in my posts or conduct, I apologize.

Toasting cumin, cinnamon, coriander, cloves, black peppere, and bay leaves makes the house smell nice.

A very simple pav bhaji, but was tasty when I made it and that's what counts.

I don’t think I’ve ever had pav bhaji.  It looks like a deconstructed samosa for Americans.

As a sandwich, it sounds appropriate and quite good.  Any excuse for more Indian food in more places is good in my book [of delicious foods].

I recommend this even more strongly than I recommend Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future by Fr Seraphim Rose.

Well, I lived on the Navajo/Hopi reservation in northeastern Arizona for a year, and learned how to make a mean fry bread, if that helps.

Yeah, Columbus made the same mistake. ;)

If he had been right, that is one heckuva shortcut.
