I like it!

well i do not the style is strange to me!

So?

its a non traditional style! i prefer to venerate Orthodox Icons

"Orthodox" westernised icons with chubby angels?

Btw, I think that I (or maybe other forum member) had already postes these two icons in the "strange icons" section, I think they're of Polish or Ukrainian origin.

The iconographer is from Ukraine.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us! :)
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

What counts as a folk icon?

It's done by one of the real people, you know?

What counts as a folk icon?

Icons not painted by professional iconographers, and are not according to iconographical conventions or canons.

Examples:

Usually painted by villagers, not in workshops.

It's no coincidence that Latins starting shaving their man hairs off around AD 1054. As they say in the philosophic community, elucidation = causation.

“God,”
The words rumbled:
“There is much suffering,
But the church is alive. "

“How long, Archpriest, are we to suffer thus?” I answered: “Until our very death, Markovna!” And she replied, with a sigh: “So be it, Petrovich, let us plod on.” - Life of Avvakum by Himself

patient and do not cry:
Not every happiness
Comes in the clothing of fortune.

Simple but beautiful.

Who's the saint on the left side of the picture?

I'm actually not sure. Looks like a monk (look at the Great Schema) but clearly young due to the lack of a beard. Alternatively, he does have a beard, but it's a thinner one.

You can see some letters on his Halo: ать is visible if you zoom in close. Not sure what name that's a part of if they're actually letters.

Interesting icon!

Wow I can't see literally (ha) nothing on this halo.
