Is anyone on this board non-canonical Orthodox?  If you are, would you please pm me?  I have some questions that I'd like to ask (not inquisitional ones, I assure you.) Smiley

Thanks.

^Sorry, let me clarify.  I want to speak with Eastern Orthodox who are not in communion with the autonomous/autocephalous churches of Greece, Antioch, Jerusalem, etc.  Non-canonical does have a bit of pejorative connotation and I was not looking to offend. My apologies.

Is this like a Catch-22? Who would admit to being non-canonical?

If you spend long enough on this forum, you'll come away with all sorts of weird, untrue ideas of Orthodox Christianity.

I would suggest most persons in general avoid any question beginning with why.

Most subtle OP ever!

Bad marketing.

The forum owner is considered this.  He's with HOTCA.  I'm sure you could try to ask him.

Since neither of you fit the criterion, why did you feel a need to comment?

Might I suggest that the OP find and find and read an article by the late Fr John Meyendorff on Canonicity, which may be found on the Orthodox Information Information Centre's website. The term 'canonical' appears too often to be used in a simplistic and erroneous way that would mean some of our Saints who stood against Patriarchs who had fallen into error were uncanonical.

Does unapologetic spending some time associated with such people, and only becoming "canonical (as you meant it)" when they did count?  If not, I will move on . .

Because I didn't see your second post, which answered my question.
