The Coptic Orthodox Church hosted "a historical prayer meeting for the victims of violent attacks, nationally and abroad, at St Patrick’s Cathedral starting promptly at 6:30 pm" on Sunday April 21, inviting also all heirarchs of the Oriental Orthodox churches in the area.

Very notable in these photos is the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Metropolitan of the US standing side-by-side with the Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of the US, probably for the first time in photo.  I find that very encouraging and promising.

Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.

March 27th and May 30th 2010 were my Ordination dates, please forgive everything before that

They did it at a RC church?
Yes, probably because of the anticipated number of attendees.

Interesting.  I always thought the OO's were so strict on that kind of stuff.  It's interesting for me to see them make the same concessions many EO hierarchs make.  I definitely understand the point of it, I just never thought the OO's would go that route.

Oikonomia is very much a factor in both our churches, for better or for worse.

With men, it is most always for worst.
With The Spirit it is ALWAYS for better.

As our numbers grew, it seems the Coptic bishop finds no problem using non-Orthodox churches.  But I don't think he necessarily prayed with the Catholics.  It was it seems strictly an OO-lead event.

Plus, not all OO is strict. The strictest OO churches are Copts, Ethiopians, and Eritrians.
