I once visited OC.net at school. You wouldn't believe the looks you got. Never did it again.

I've done that plenty of times; everyone looks at me like I'm a weirdo Smiley

I'll have to try at the library. See if the network allows it. Smiley

I for one find the idea of a clean Monday impossible to understand. We should eat clean every day. If anything, oc.net should have a "cheat day Monday" for us.

Solid work throughout this thread.

Keep it up.

It's "clean" in the sense that we gave up all our vices, smoking, drinking, eating non-lenten, arguing, judging, etc.

WE are to be clean that day!

When did that happen?

I've often seen Hindu festivals involve throwing colored dyes, etc.

This is the first I've seen this done in an Orthodox celebration.

Supper was nettle soup.

yum, yum!
even being born in a country where the country hedges are full of nettles in the spring and summer,
i had to go to romania before i experienced nettle soup.
actually nettle stew is my favourite, just made with onions, garlic, nettles and a few herbs.
you quickly boil the nettles first for 2-3 mins to take away the 'sting' and then fry them once the onions are brown.
in the uk, the best time for picking the fresh nettles is may; it's important to only use the young leaves, or you will scratch your throat.

i also like the idea of switching off tv / computers / telephone internets etc. for a few days (or more!) during lent.
i had a very nice 'clean monday'; thanks all for introducing me to this custom.
